Application:
The 2709-9500 oil pressure switch is engineered for Ford 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 7000, 9000 and 9700 agricultural tractors, Ford New Holland 555A–555E backhoe loaders, TW15–TW35 wheel tractors, and is directly retro-fittable to Perkins T4.236 and AT4.236 turbocharged four-cylinder diesels (4.0 L) widely used across agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, 40–100 kVA generator sets, tele-handlers and light construction machinery. In these applications the switch threads into the main oil gallery and closes its contact when oil pressure drops below the calibrated set-point (0.3–0.5 bar), triggering an immediate warning lamp and, on units so equipped, shutting down the engine to prevent catastrophic bearing or turbocharger failure.
Technical specifications:
The switch is a single-pole, normally-closed pressure-actuated device housed in a zinc-nickel-plated steel body with 1/8" NPTF male thread and 19 mm hex, 48 mm overall length and 55 g mass.
Material & performance features:
The pressure-sensing diaphragm is phosphor bronze with a nitrile sealing disc, giving excellent resilience against vibration and thermal cycling. The internal contact is silver-plated copper alloy for low contact resistance and long service life.
