Application:
Oil Pressure Sensor 2848A013 is engineered for Perkins 4.236, T4.236 and AT4.236 turbocharged diesel engines (4.0 L), along with the 1004-4, 1004-40, 1004-40T, 1004-42, 1004-4T, 1006-60T, 1006-60TA, 1006-60TW, 1006-6T, 1006-6TW and earlier 3.1524, D3.152, T3.1524 series. These engines are widely deployed in agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, generator sets, forklifts, and stationary industrial machinery where accurate oil-pressure feedback is critical for safe, efficient operation.
Technical specifications:
Thread 1/8-27 NPT, hex 19 mm, overall housing length 46 mm. Operating pressure range 0–10 bar (0–145 psi), output 0.5–4.5 V ratiometric to supply 5 V DC. Switch point calibrated at 0.25 ± 0.15 bar for low-pressure alarm. Internal sensing element is a thin-film strain-gauge bridge with integrated temperature compensation from –40 °C to 150 °C media temperature.
Material & performance features:
The sensor body is machined from corrosion-resistant brass, then nickel-plated for additional protection against engine-oil additives. Sensing diaphragm is 316L stainless steel with laser-welded construction, eliminating potential leak paths and providing burst pressure >35 bar. Electronics are fully encapsulated in high-temperature epoxy, shielding the strain-gauge network from vibration, moisture and electromagnetic interference.
