Although the 06H145710G valve is catalogued primarily for late-model VW-Audi 2.0 TFSI/TSI passenger-car engines, its 25 mm hose-bore and 3-pin 12 V solenoid make it a popular retro-fit on small-frame turbocharged diesels where a fast-acting vacuum-controlled bypass is required. Owners of Perkins T4.236 and AT4.236 4.0-litre turbo engines frequently graft the unit into the compressor outlet pipe-work when converting mechanical wastegate systems to electronic “smart” boost control on agricultural tractors, combine harvesters and 50-100 kVA generator sets. The valve vents surplus boost back to the inlet hose when the throttle closes, preventing compressor surge and lengthening turbo life in stop-start field work or genset load-dump cycles. Its compact aluminium body fits the tight packaging around the Perkins CAV-type pump and the original 51 mm ID hose used on the T4.236 air-to-air intercooler circuit.
